About Curae
Curae exists so that not speaking Japanese never stops anyone from getting good care.
Why we built it
Millions of people live in Japan without fluent Japanese. They can reach the front door of healthcare but not always through it — finding a clinic that will see them in their language, booking by phone, and explaining what they need are all hard.
Curae puts finding and booking in one place, so getting care feels normal, not stressful.
How we verify clinics
We start from public sources (the MHLW list of clinics that accept foreign patients, JMIP, and others) and then confirm by phone that a clinic can actually see you in your language. We show honestly whether a listing is verified or self-reported.
How we make money
Curae is free for patients. Clinics can pay a flat monthly fee to be listed — never per patient or per booking — and payment never changes the factual content of a listing or our verification standards.
What we are — and aren't
Curae is a clinic directory and booking-request service, not a medical provider. We don't diagnose or give medical advice. Reviews we show cover the service side (wait time, staff, language support) — never treatment outcomes.
