How can we help?

Booking & appointments

How do I book an appointment?+

Find a clinic in the directory (or ask the AI assistant), open its page, and choose Book. Clinics with online scheduling let you pick a real time slot; others take a booking request with your preferred times, and the clinic confirms, usually within one business day. No account is needed.

How do I cancel or reschedule?+

Reply to your confirmation email and we'll coordinate with the clinic, or contact the clinic directly using the details on its Curae page. Please give as much notice as you can.

I didn't get a confirmation email.+

Check your spam folder first. If it's not there within a few minutes of booking, email support@curae.life with your name and the clinic you booked, and we'll check on it.

Can someone book on my behalf?+

Yes, a family member or friend can send the request. Just include the patient's name, preferred language, and contact details in the form so the clinic can prepare.

Finding a clinic

How do I find a clinic that speaks my language?+

Every listing shows the languages the clinic supports. In the directory you can filter by language, specialty, and area, or describe what you need to the AI assistant and it will point you to matching clinics.

Which areas does Curae cover?+

Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe today, with more areas being added. If your city isn't covered yet, the AI assistant can still help you figure out what kind of care you need.

What does “Curae-checked” mean?+

It means we've confirmed the listing's details, including language support, directly with the clinic. Listings without the badge are compiled from the clinic's official public information.

Can the AI assistant diagnose me?+

No. The assistant helps you find the right kind of clinic and explains how the Japanese system works, but it never diagnoses or gives medical advice. If it spots emergency red flags, it will tell you to call 119.

Online consultations

What is オンライン診療 (online consultation)?+

A video appointment with a licensed clinic, held on the clinic's own system. On Curae, clinics that offer it show an “online” option in their booking flow, pick it like any other slot.

What do I need for an online appointment?+

A phone or computer with a camera, a stable connection, and your ID / insurance card if you have one. The clinic sends joining instructions after your booking is confirmed.

Can everything be treated online?+

No. Some conditions require an in-person visit, and the clinic decides what's appropriate. If the doctor determines you need to come in, they'll tell you during or before the consultation.

Fees & payment

Does Curae cost anything for patients?+

No. Browsing clinics, using the AI assistant, and booking are all free for patients, always. You pay the clinic directly for your medical care, as usual.

Does my insurance work at these clinics?+

It depends on the clinic and your coverage. Japanese public insurance is accepted at most (not all) listed clinics; private or travel insurance usually means paying up front and claiming reimbursement. Confirm with the clinic when booking, mention your insurance in the request message.

Why don't listings show treatment prices?+

Treatment costs depend on your visit, coverage, and the clinic's fee schedule, so we don't publish them. For self-pay treatments, ask the clinic for a written estimate before you go.

For clinics

How do we get our clinic listed?+

Book a demo from the For Clinics page. We'll walk you through the listing and dashboard in 20 minutes, then send a written plan proposal. Fees are flat monthly amounts, never per patient or per booking.

Where do we sign in to the dashboard?+

Use the sign-in link on the For Clinics page with the access token we issued. Lost your token? Email support@curae.life from your clinic's registered address.

How do we update our listing?+

Edit it anytime in your dashboard, hours, tags, introduction, services. Changes go live after a quick factual review. No dashboard yet? Email us the correction and we'll handle it.

About Curae & privacy

Is Curae a medical provider?+

No. Curae is an independent directory and booking service. We don't provide medical care, diagnosis, or advice. The clinics you book with do. Our symptom guides are information, not diagnosis.

How are the listings built, and are they accurate?+

We build each listing by hand from the clinic's own official website and public sources. We don't scrape. A listing is marked “Curae-checked” only after we confirm the details (including language support) with the clinic; otherwise it's shown as self-reported from public info. Clinic details can still change, so always confirm with the clinic before your visit. If you spot an error, email support@curae.life and we'll correct it (clinics can also claim and edit their own listing).

What happens to my personal data?+

We collect only what's needed to arrange a visit (contact details, preferred language and times, the clinic you chose), never your medical history. Your request is sent only to the clinic you chose, through Curae's own system, so no other third party reads it, and it's never sold or used for advertising. Booking is paused right now while we build that system, so nothing is being collected; you can ask us to delete anything at support@curae.life.

How is Curae funded?+

Clinics pay a flat monthly listing fee. Payment never changes the medical facts in a listing, and we never charge clinics per patient, so there's no incentive to push you anywhere.

Still need help?

Email our support team and a real person will get back to you, in English or Japanese, usually within one business day.

Curae support is not a medical service. In an emergency, call 119 for an ambulance.
